July 26, 2025 | Release Summary - Catylex v.13.22.3
This release refines the search and QC capabilities within the system giving Contract Reviewers more flexibility in the way they perform quality checks (QC) and improving the consistency of the QC and Search experience generally. In summary, this includes
- A reconfigured “All Terms Report” that enables QC directly within that report and makes it consistent with our existing search interface
- More granularity in our confidence levels to make it easier for Contract Reviewers to focus on things that require their attention
- More granularity of IP Whitelisting capabilities for more flexible security configurations
The new All Terms Report
Users can now
- Filter by concept, tags or text or a combination of the three
- Filter to see sentences with no concepts – making it easier to confirm the absence of a concept
- Perform QC from this sentence-by-sentence view of a contract - easier for adding tags and/or new concepts
- See relevant text in the context of actual page images/scans by clicking on the concept “chip”
See short video for more details:
Additional granularity in confidence levels
We’ve significantly added to the number of concepts that enjoy the benefit of AI Matching. We’ve also made the confidence levels more granular. In particular:
- “High”: data that either (1) has been matched by at least two AI systems and that, for most purposes, we expect to be accurate enough to use without additional checks or (2) has been confirmed by a human.
- “Medium-High”: data that we generally expect to be accurate but with slightly less confidence than “High” results. “Medium-High” answers result either from AI Matching more complex questions where our internal benchmarks showed strong results, but not strong enough to warrant the “High” label or from Analytic AI alone that has not been subject to AI Matching.
- “Medium”: data that is useful and can be used for directional understanding of portfolios, but likely has a number of false positives, with further review recommended if higher confidence is required. Medium results have been subject to AI Matching but the systems disagreed.
- “Medium Confidence Generative AI – Text Issues”: a specific subset of Medium confidence results where the generative AI came up with an answer but our system was unable to find a text match in the OCR. This may be the result of an OCR issue (e.g., poor scan quality, handwriting, tables segmentations, document margins), or an LLM mistake or hallucination. These show in the system as pink and should be used with caution until reviewed. In the example below, the LLM found a sentence with a party name, but the text didn’t match the OCR text layer:
A manual review of that text found the likely source, and it is visible that the LLM got the name slightly wrong (KOSHUR vs KOSIUR):
- “Low”: a system detected the language as being a potential answer or of relevance to understanding the answer, but this data will often be incorrect and is mostly useful for QC review if the correct answer has not been found. These answers are only visible to Contract Reviewers or roles with access to QC functionality (typical end users will not see low confidence results).
Labels of all confidence levels are available in our FAQ (and use ctrl F for Key Terms Report)
Other platform enhancements
This release also includes more granular IP whitelisting capabilities – which now allow for accounts, individuals and or service accounts to be subject to IP whitelisting. Finally, the release includes various small bug fixes and UI tweaks to enhance the user experience, many of which are based on user feedback. We aim to delight, so please continue to provide us your feedback.
July 5, 2025 | Release Summary - Catylex v.13.20.3
This is another big release for Catylex. In summary, this includes
- adding Simple Search feature to make it even easier to find the set of contracts that meet your needs
- adding a new (smarter) concept called “Initial Term Specified” which will replace Term in Years and Term in months
- UI improvements, less clicks, more intuitive usage patterns in particular to QC functions
Updated Simple Search functionality
You can now filter your list of contracts by using an expanded number of fields.
The above screenshot shows the new Simple Search that has been added to the “Contracts Grid” allowing users to use various filters (e.g. Away Party) to narrow down the list of contracts to the relevant subset. Users also have the ability to “Manage Search Filters” to add their preferred filters (top right, under orange ellipsis) and users can access the Advanced Search from this screen for a richer search experience.
Users can also use common date ranges such as “This Month”, “Last Month”, “This Year”, “Last Year”, to speed their contract analysis.
Initial Term Specified
We are adding a new (smarter) concept called “Initial Term Specified” to our Commercial View. There is no longer a need to QC Term in Months and/or Term in Years, you now have the ability to QC “Initial Term Specified” and results will flow through to Term in Months and Term in Years where still required.
You will now be able to search for 1 measure of term and get results regardless of how the contracts express the term, e.g. a search for contracts with 1 year term will return contracts that express term as 1 year, 12 months or 52 weeks
This new concept effectively replaces “Term in Years” and “Term in Months”, which were rarely both populated, primarily because most of the time a term is expressed in months or years.
This concept is smarter in that
- If Agreement Date and Initial Term Specified (in months and/or years) are expressed Catylex will calculate Agreement End Date
- If Agreement Date and Agreement End Date are expressed, Catylex will calculate Initial Term Specified (in months and/or years)
(note, if only one of the three concepts are found, no calculation is possible)
Quality Control (QC) Improvements:
- Two-Column Layout: All concepts now display in a cleaner and consistent two-column format in QC mode
- Color-Coded Chips: Concept values now appear as colored chips with confidence-based styling, making it easier to quickly assess data quality
- Consistent Actions: All QC action buttons now display and work the same way across different concept types
- Cleaner display: Complex concept sentences display without borders or column headers for a cleaner look and Confidence filters and other settings moved to the side drawer (accessible via the cog wheel icon)
- PDF Integration: Click on concept value chips to highlight the corresponding text in the PDF side drawer
UI Improvements
Reduced clicks! More consistency between the display of simple and complex concepts and better delineation of tags.
Also, users can now
- navigate to “Legal Entity Management” and “Deduplication” tools from the “Administration” screen or the hamburger menu
- access the “Upload Contracts” directly from the main header as well as the main dashboard
Other enhancements
We continue to improve the accuracy of our data extraction including our AI Matching (at least for those that are using it) and other improvements to make it easier to manage large contract portfolios
- AI Matching Enhancements: We've made significant improvements to our AI Matching technology to provide more accurate results
- Increased Export Limit: Export limit increased from 2,000 to 20,000 records for exporting legal entity reference data
- Unlimited Imports: No limits on importing legal entities
- Asynchronous Processing: Large operations now run in the background, with status updates sent to your email
- User Activity Logs Improvements: User activity logs now include contract-specific filters for better tracking
Many of these are based on your suggestions, thank you and please do continue to provide us with feedback.
June 1, 2025 - | Release Summary - Catylex v.13.18.0
This release introduces powerful new Quality Control (QC) capabilities that significantly streamline the review process across contract portfolios as well as a refreshed user interface design and enhanced bulk operations. We are also releasing in beta a new Data Responsibilities (RACI) Management feature.
QC Bulk Propagation in Sentence Search
This new feature allows users to perform quality control operations across multiple sentences simultaneously, dramatically reducing the time required for data validation and correction. This feature can be accessed from sentence search results by first selecting Quality Check, and the, by the truck, Bulk QC:
That opens a "holding pen" that can be populated with Concepts to approve or reject in the search results:
Key Features:
- Bulk QC Operations: Review and propagate concept values across multiple sentence search results in a single operation
- Similar Sentence Integration: When performing similar sentence searches, the system now displays source sentence context and allows bulk propagation to related sentences
- Holding Pen Design: Interactive interface for managing concept values with accept/reject functionality before final propagation
- Smart Confirmation: User confirmation dialogs ensure data integrity before bulk operations are applied
Enhanced Concept Visibility in Search
From within the in the search interface, users can control which concepts are displayed in sentence search results, making it easier to focus on relevant data points.
Visibility Modes:
- Searched Concepts: Shows only concepts that were included in the search filters (previously the default mode)
- All Concepts: Displays both searched concepts and those available from the selected view
- Specific Concepts: Allows manual selection of which concepts to display
Smart Defaults:
- The system automatically selects the appropriate visibility mode based on your search filters
- Your preferences are remembered throughout your session
- Visual indicators (red dots) appear when concept filters are active, ensuring you're always aware of what might be hidden:
Refreshed User Interface Design
We've given Catylex a visual refresh focused on improving usability, data comprehension and consistency across the platform.
Visual Enhancements:
- New Action Buttons: All three-dot menu icons have been updated with a prominent orange-yellow color scheme for better visibility
- Confidence-Based Color Coding and Medium Confidence Indicators: Concept and tag chips now use an improved black and gray color scheme.
- Dashed borders now distinguish medium confidence values while maintaining the solid borders for medium-high confidence results:
Administrative Enhancements
Data Responsibilities (RACI) Management System: We're excited to introduce a beta version of our comprehensive RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed) framework that allows organizations to assign contract data to Groups. This feature, available in the “Configure Content” screen, addresses operational challenges by clearly defining who should handle specific contract concepts, minimizing errors due to responsibility gaps and communication failures.
Concept-to-Group Assignment: Content Owners can now assign any Catylex or Custom Concept to a Group with specific RACI roles:
- Responsible: Groups who do the work to complete the task
- Accountable: Groups who are ultimately answerable for the correct completion
- Consulted: Groups whose opinions are sought and who provide input
- Informed: Groups who are kept up-to-date on progress
Flexible Configuration Options:
- Concept Specification: Concept assignment can be further qualified by the specific value (e.g., Governing Law = “New York”) or the presence of a specified tag.
- GUI-Based Setup: Intuitive front-end interface for creating and managing RACI assignments
- Integrated Report Exports: When exporting concept reports via spreadsheet, users can now include RACI assignment information, showing a concatenated, delimited list of assigned groups for each concept where rules are met. Reporting in this initial beta is currently limited to spreadsheets. Future releases will add these RACI relationships to Search and reports visible from Catylex’s interface.
Bulk Group and Role Assignment: In the “Manage Groups” screen, we have added new bulk import/export of Groups and assignment of Roles to Groups via spreadsheet.
Bulk Content Management: Bulk operations via spreadsheet for contracts have been moved out of the contract search results screen to a new “Import Content” screen available in the Administration screen, with duplicative functions Add Concept and Reject Concepts removed as both of those operations and more are supported under the “Bulk Content Update” option (previously named “Tuple Based Bulk Operations”).
May 4, 2025 - | Release Summary - Catylex v.13.15.0
This release includes a significant upgrade to our Data Confidence Dashboard giving users who are leveraging Catylex AI Matching a quick view into the quality of the data regardless of what it is and where it is in their portfolio.
Data Confidence Dashboard
The dashboard now shows the confidence level for all concepts in your chosen “View” and provides you with rapid access to the ability to verify or correct (QC) the data if required.
This is only available to accounts with AI Matching turned on. Contact your Catylex account manager if you are interested in adding this feature to your account.
Color Key
Text and icons indicate the data confidence level as follows:
The descriptions are available if you hover over the icons. For those without AI Matching you will not see any medium or low confidence results. This key is also available in the FAQ: What do the icons mean on the Key terms Report (KTR)?
Most importantly, any data marked as High Confidence AI Matched is going to be extremely accurate out of the box, allowing review teams to focus their QC checking efforts on verifying medium confidence results.
Navigation to Key Terms Report
We watched too many people try in vain to open the Key Terms Report (KTR) by clicking on the contract title on the Contracts Grid. Well now you can, making it easy to navigate to the data you need quickly. We’ve also made the actions button more prominent (the dot dot dot or ellipsis icon on the right of the contract grid), to help new users discover all the actions available for each contract.
Other updates
We now support whitelisting of IP ranges which helps some organizations meet their information security standards and we have made various performance enhancements and user activity log improvements.
Enjoy and please do continue to share feedback. We care what you think and are always looking for ways to make the Catylex experience as good as it can be.
March 4, 2025 - | Release Summary - Catylex v.13.11.3
This release includes a new Contract Tracker feature, giving certain users the ability to configure alerts linked to important contractual dates such as upcoming expiry dates.
Contract Tracker (beta)
The Contract Tracker function is available under the Administration tab and allows users to create one or more Trackers or Tracking Rules. These Trackers then monitor the system for contracts that match the tracking rule and send alerts via email or within the Catylex application (or both). Alerts can be offset a specified number of days before or after the occurrence of a milestone date. For example, an alert may be configured for 30 days before the expiry date, or 7 days after that date. Alerts can also be limited to certain conditions, such as only applying where a contract is stored within a particular workspace or tagged with a particular tag. Trackers can be cloned to make it easier to create a similar rule and can be deactivated if not in current use.
The initial release supports calendar/date alerts as described above. In future releases we expect to extend the feature to support triggers other than date-based events (e.g. triggers based on a change to certain contract attributes).
Other enhancements and bug fixes
- New role (set of permissions) for downloading pdfs of contracts
- Custom views and concepts enhancements including the option to use legal entity attributes stored in the “manage legal entity” module
- Further normalization applied to results (e.g. 6th anniversary is normalized to 6 years)
- Various updates to AI Matching that enhance results
- Activity logs no longer include multiple logins for each user session
January 13, 2025 - | Release Summary - Catylex v.13.8.1
Happy New Year!
This release introduces the ability for users to create their own “Custom Concepts and “Custom Views”. These allow user to pick and choose which Concepts they want to be visible in Key Terms, QC and other Reports as well as in shared export excel files, combining Catylex out-of-the-box Concepts with their own.
Both Custom Concepts and Custom Views can be found under the User Administration cog wheel under the “Configure Content” button.

Custom Concepts
Permissioned users can now create their own concepts. Various prompts are available to make this easy and intuitive for the user including the use of free text, numbers, dates etc.
- Data entry fields – “empty” Concepts that can be populated with free text, numbers, dates or specified pick list values. Once configured and added to Custom View, these can be accessed for manually entered data by other users.
- Legal Entity reference fields – wherever a Home or Away Party has data entered into the Manage Legal Entity module, for example official names or IDs, those names or IDs can be displayed as an alternative or supplement to the Home and Away Party concept.
- Tagged sentences fields – wherever a user has tagged sentences, either manually or via a Tagging rule, the user can automatically populate a Custom Concept that displays the full text of the tagged sentence.
Catylex intends to extend this framework over time to allow more and more user configuration. For example, it will be possible to extract from a tagged sentence specific dates in that sentence and normalize them as date values rather than just showing the entire sentence.
This feature, once added to your account is available to System Administrators, Content Owners and Content Managers. However, Custom Concepts and Views, once created are available to all users.
For further information on How to create Custom Concepts please click here.
Custom Views
Customizing a view includes the ability to select the subset of Catylex out-of-the-box concepts as well as determining the order of the concepts and is designed to further accelerate the user’s ability to review a set of contracts. Users can also determine which concepts appear in the contract summary section at the top of the Key Terms Report. Please see this short video for more information.
Concept Selection
With this release the user will have two options.
- Select concepts from views within their current subscriptions
- Select custom concepts created by the user
To add Catylex concepts available in other views not in their current subscriptions, e.g. Loans, leases, users should contract their account administrator and/or their Catylex account manager.
When to use a custom concept vs a tag vs request Catylex to add a concept
- Custom Concept – great for adding details (concepts) to a View when details are dependent on existing data points, e.g. a combination of existing concepts and tags.
- Tags – great for labeling search results when multiple criteria have been used and great when something is required either as a one off or urgently
- Catylex Concept – best when
- lots of concepts are required
- content is nuanced or complex e.g. ERISA requirements
- concept is pervasive across your contract portfolio
Other
Various bug fixes are also included in this release.
Coming soon: contract alerts!
December 1, 2024 - | Release Summary - Catylex v.13.5.1
This release includes a significant upgrade which includes the ability to QC a concept across a portfolio of contracts, saving significant time in any QC process along with other enhancements described below. These release notes can also be found in the Catylex Knowledge Center.
Among other things, this release paves the path for AI Matching, a new, optional core feature that adds to our existing AI capabilities an additional automated QC check by a secure LLM. Accuracy rates when the systems agree are very high, to the point where it becomes feasible not to manually check matched results. For unmatched results, the feature supplements our existing one-click QC with unmatched LLM results, so even when we don’t have a match, the feature greatly reduces the effort in final QC.
If you are interested in AI Matching, contact your account manager to learn more about adding this feature to your Catylex account.
Data confidence new color scheme
- Users can now delineate results by level of confidence. Results are colored as follows:
- This is available to all users regardless of whether AI Matching has been added to your account. For users without AI Matching, the High confidence will highlight where a person has confirmed a Catylex raw output.
Click here for a brief video overview.
QC by Concept
- We've developed tools to accelerate the review of concepts across a portfolio of contracts which users have informed us, in most cases is faster than QC contract by contract – which remains an option.
QC for complex concepts
- QC by concept is now available for complex concepts – concepts for which a sub-attribute exists, and QC of the sub-attributes is now possible, e.g. Notice Days within Termination Rights
- Click here for a brief video overview.
Concept Not Present
- User can now confirm a concept is “Not Present” (no longer “not found”) in QC mode which now has the thumbs up.
- Click here for a brief video overview.
Governing Law
- We have introduced a revised naming convention for our out of the box Governing Law concept. Results now show country or state names e.g. New York, France instead of New York Law or French law.
- Where users had specific naming convention requirements for populating downstream systems these have been preserved and other conventions required for CRMs, CLMs etc. are still supported
- Click here for a brief video overview.
Integration Enhancement
- Catylex has built out new interface capabilities for integrations with other system, including the ability to view external IDs and links related to documents in Catylex and navigate to them, as wells to synchronize data with other systems, such as a CLM. Enabling these functions does require additional work specific to the use case, but these improvements build on our existing RESTful APIs to make integration easier. Please reach out if you are interested in taking advantage of these enhanced integration features.
New Content
- Lots of new content including intellectual property rights, dispute resolution, deemed acceptance and various concepts for Custody related agreements.
- Contact your account manager if you are interested in additional content.
Other enhancements and bug fixes
- From the grid or contracts search screen, you can select multiple contracts and select the “Search within” feature
- The selection of sentences now persists and is less sensitivity to an erroneous mouse click, particularly useful when tagging sentences
- Sub-attributes of a complex concept can now be added through bulk operation to sentences
August 1, 2024 | Release Summary - Catylex v.12.0.0
This release includes a major upgrade to our Administration functions.
Enhanced Administration Console
- Simpler to use, more organized and enhanced set of administration functions primarily for system administrators. For further information navigate to the Administration function to see the various new options.
Pre-Defined Roles
- New roles have been created and are ready out of the box which makes it easier to manage multiple users.
Improved User Activity Reporting
- More intuitive UI with filters on various dimensions of the user log, e.g. a filter by user, by event.
July 15, 2024 | Release Summary - Catylex v.11.5.1
Some great new features as a result of some really engaged customers working on large scale portfolio analyses.
Bulk Operations: add/edit/delete
- You can now add, edit or delete concepts and tags from hundreds or thousands of sentences in a matter of minutes. Use the search function to narrow find down the a subset of documents or sentences and use the “Bulk Operation” function to make the changes in a single action.
- This feature is great if you want to enrich your contract data with existing meta data that you may already have, such as internal client codes, industry categories, internal cost centers or risk rating etc. It can also accelerate QC by using search to identify errors common across documents and a Bulk Operation to address them.
Doc Splitting
- Users may find this particularly helpful when they are “backing up the truck” and sorting through lots of new documents to find the subset of documents that are active contracts. For example if a file has been created with an MSA and an SOW in a single document.
- You can also discard sections of a document that you do not want in the platform, e.g. because they are not contracts
Data Export Enhancements
- There are more choices for downloading or exporting data with the “Share” function from the search screen. For all search exports, basic contract meta data from the contract summary is now included in the export spreadsheet, allowing easy filtering. Also, the user can choose any View to add to the report, not just the current search criteria and resulting data.
- User generated Tags are now included in the APIs for contract metadata.
May 23, 2024 | Release Summary - Catylex v.11.2.2
A range of new and enhanced features including improved experience around QC of dependent concepts, user updates and alerts, large portfolio scaling improvements and general UX and navigation refinements.
Nested and dependent concept QC
- Complex concepts that contain other concepts within them can now be quality-checked and verified in one context, and that is automatically reflected in other contexts that contain the equivalent concept.
- Concepts that depend upon other concepts are now flagged in the QC interface and, when changes are made, any dependent concepts are immediately marked as “recalculating” so that reviewers don’t waste time on concepts that are about to be updated.
User updates and alerts
- New feature to make it easy to communicate important changes or updates to users of the application.
- An alert icon near the user login/settings menu calls attention to any new messages in the system.
- Users can clear any messages once they have read and taken note of them.
Large contract portfolio scaling
- A variety of improvements have been made to ensure very fast performance even for large portfolios of contracts.
- Search is significantly faster, even with tens of thousands of records.
- Dashboard loading for large portfolios does not prevent users from navigating somewhere else if they don’t need to view the dashboard.
Navigation and UX
- More flexible navigation options are now available from one contract view to another.
- Contract search can be launched from Legal Entity records via a single action.
- Contracts can now be linked from any one contract record (rather than having to select two)
- Improved UX for the deduplication feature.
- New method for highlighting relevant text in the PDF improves readability.
Service Accounts
- A new service account feature makes it simpler for relevant users to create and manage service accounts, via a front-end web GUI.

Document linking
- Critical for analysis of large portfolios of contracts e.g. for determining which contracts are active vs non-active
- Designed to automatically recognize and organize related contracts together into a linked hierarchy that can be viewed as a tree.
- Ability to quality check - view the text source - and edit each link (and manually add links) to ensure that source-target document pairs are correct, and the link relationship is correct (e.g., amendment vs mere reference).
Document splitting
- Ability for users to split a file into two or more files, useful when two or more agreements, for example a master agreement and a statement of work, have been combined into one pdf
Document credits
- Ability to use document credits to manage account usage across multiple contract types, e.g. for leases and loans
Performance improvements

- Documentation for these can be found here - > https://prod1-api.catylex.net/swagger/
Deduplication
- A quick visualization of documents that have been loaded into the platform and tools to help the user quickly manage duplicates and near duplicates, allowing the user to get to the subset of relevant contracts in a timely manner
Data calculations
- Added functionality to reduce the need to key in contract data that is not found in the contract but can be derived from other contract content
- For example, for Agreement End Date, when not present in a document the system can now calculate this data point from Agreement Date and Term. The system will calculate “Oct 10 2023” as the Agreement End Date from a contract dated Oct 10 2021 with a term of 2 years.
June 22, 2023 | Release Summary - Catylex v.10.6.1
This is a significant release for users with lots of new easy-to-use features and functionality.
Contract dashboard
We are pleased to inform you about our new dashboard, which offers valuable qualitative insights into your contract portfolio and provides prompt access to our key activities, enhancing our user's experience and productivity.
- Portfolio insights - Our new dashboard includes analytical highlights across your contract portfolio, providing users with immediate insight into key data points such as document count, and types of documents, as well as a breakdown of how many Parties, Countries, Governing Laws, and Currencies have been detected across your portfolio. With this new interface, users can quickly get a comprehensive overview of their contract portfolio, improving their ability to manage and analyze their data.
- Easy access to upload, search & view contracts - Our new dashboard features descriptive and intuitive access to upload, search, and view your portfolio directly from the home page, making it easier for users to quickly access key features.
- Contract progress bar - When uploading a document into our portfolio, you no longer have to worry about wondering when your uploads are complete. We've added a progress bar that tracks the status of document uploads in real-time. With this new feature, users can easily see the progress of their document uploads no matter what screen they are on in the platform. This feature provides a more intuitive and user-friendly experience, allowing users to stay informed about the status of their uploads without needing to constantly refresh the page.
NLP search
Our new NLP search feature leverages the power of natural language processing to improve the accuracy and relevance of search results. With NLP search, users can enter search queries in natural language and receive suggested search queries that match their intent more closely. This feature enhances the overall search experience, making it easier for users to find the information they need quickly and efficiently.
- Saved searches - You can now save your searches! Users can save their frequently used search queries for future use. This feature makes it easier for users to access and retrieve the same set of search results repeatedly, saving them time and effort in the process. Saved searches can be modified, deleted, or shared with other users, making it easy to collaborate on research projects, quality control efforts, or document management tasks.
- Visualization - Our search function now incorporates visualization graphs and charts, which offer a graphical representation of your search results. This integration provides users with a clear and concise visual breakdown of their search results, enhancing their ability to interpret and analyze the data.
Auto-tag and tag management
We are thrilled to introduce our New Auto-Tag and Tag Management feature, designed to help users efficiently classify and categorize contracts and sentences according to their unique requirements. With this new feature, users can now create custom tags and easily apply them to multiple contracts at once, saving valuable time and effort.
As soon as new contracts are uploaded to your portfolio, the system will automatically apply the appropriate tags based on your tagging criteria. Tags can be viewed from the Contracts List, Terms Report, or Search, providing a quick and convenient way to access the information you need.
This feature simplifies the process of organizing and retrieving contracts with specific data points, making it more convenient and efficient for users.
Filter contract list by metadata, tags & status!
We’ve made some improvements to our Contract List to provide users with greater flexibility, more information, and better control over their contracts.
- Our new release includes useful metadata that users can view and filter for each contract. Users can now see who uploaded the contract, when it was created, and when it was last updated.
- Users can also filter the Contract List by custom Tags, displaying only the contracts that meet specific criteria.
- A Status filter has also been added to allow users to filter their contract list by (re)processing status. This feature enables users to quickly identify contracts that require (re)processing, such as contracts that have been rejected or that need to be re-reviewed.
Additional filtering provides users with a broader range of choices for locating particular contracts, facilitating more informed decision-making regarding contract data management.
Terms report summary
A new summary view has been incorporated at the top of the Terms Report, enabling users to quickly view related Tags, Parties, and other relevant information. To access this summary, simply open a Terms Report and ensure that your View is set to Essentials. The summary will be presented ahead of the detailed analysis and supporting data, making it easier for users to prioritize crucial information and avoid getting lost in the report's specifics. Furthermore, the data is interactive, allowing users to click on data points and reveal Contracts that share the same data points.
Document classification
Occasionally, organizations may not use uniform document titles, leading to confusion and difficulty in identifying similar documents. With Catylex's new feature, the text of your documents is automatically analyzed, and an Agreement Type is assigned to enable meaningful grouping of documents.
No longer will you have to deal with variations such as "MSA" being treated as a separate category from "Master Services Agreement" or "Master Services Contact."
Duplicate document handling
Our new Duplicate Management Module allows users to view system-detected duplicates and manage duplicate handling more efficiently. The feature leverages machine learning algorithms to identify identical or nearly identical documents, even if they have different filenames or Workspaces.
- Once duplicates are approved, they will be removed from the contract list and workspaces to reduce unnecessary noise in your portfolio. Deduplication will save our users time and effort in the document review and management processes, especially when they use the Redline feature which clearly and concisely identifies differences between nearly identical documents.

Performance & UI enhancements
- System availability tracking - We are now continuously monitoring our software’s availability and performance so that we can get alerts if/when it is not available. This is just good old software management good practice, as opposed to something ground-breaking which you have come to expect from us. It is important though.
- Document Uploads are now faster! We’ve updated and streamlined our backend resources to ensure the document upload process is efficient and completed in a timely manner.
- We have added page numbers to our Excel exports to help users identify where specific data is located in the contract. This feature is especially useful for users who do not have direct access to our system but can access the contract.
- Various Catylex APIs have been designed to help extend the functionality of our product by integrating with third-party platforms.
March 2, 2023 | Release Summary - Catylex v.9.1.5
We are excited to announce this release which includes features to enhance the user experience.
We want to highlight some of the changes that you may experience. This release should not impact system availability as it is being planned for before the start of the business day on Friday March 3rd.
Accessing Original Document from Contract Grid
Access the original document uploaded to Catylex's platform directly from the Contracts grid, without leaving the platform. Click on the PDF icon located under the Actions section for each individual document. Users will be directed to a new tab where the original document (pdf or doc) is displayed using our PDF viewer. Users can still download the original document from this screen via the ‘Download Original Document’ icon in the top right corner.
Search Results displays Document File Name
Quickly see results of a search organized by contract. Results are now displayed in groups based on contract making it easier to distinguish search result from the same document. Users can also toggle between Document File Name and Catylex’s System ID via a toggle button in the header of the search results grid.
Additionally, there are substantial performance improvements in search and visualization which you will not see but should experience!
January 20, 2023 | Release Summary - Catylex v.9.1.4
This is a significant release for users with lots of new easy-to-use features and functionality.
Introducing Single Sign-On (SSO) for Catylex
We are glad to announce that Catylex now supports Single Sign-On. With Single Sign-On, your employees can use their organization credentials to log in or access Catylex without compromising on security. With this feature, you can easily eliminate the use of simple passwords that present a security risk, while also improving productivity with one-click access to Catylex.
Catylex Single Sign-On supports three major identity providers — Google Cloud Identity, Okta, and Azure, and we are likely to be able to support most other identity providers upon request.
Please reach out to Andy Tuckett to find out more about setting up your organization's SSO.
Duplicates Management
We are pleased to announce our Duplicate Management Module! The Duplicates Management Module will allow users to automatically detect and separate system-found duplicates from the main repository.
Duplicates usually live in a set of documents, but if the duplicate files are removed, your document review process can be faster and more efficient than ever. This feature will speed up any review and avoid redundant downstream work.
Catylex duplicate management goes beyond simple file name and size matching to analyze the underlying content, detect likely duplicates with different file formats or names and present the user with exact differences for ease of review.
User Management
Customers can manage Account Settings using My Org in Catylex. User Management will allow users to self-service organization security parameters and default platform settings. Organization settings include:
- Enable Single-Sign-On:
- Require MFA for Organization:
- View Access:
- Default Workspaces:
- Number of Processed Documents:
